It would be great if somebody with 3 gigs of VRAM could test these out and report back, because I believe this could help a lot of people who currently don't have the funds to buy a better graphics card (damn you, crypto miners).

With these settings, I have noticed absolutely zero issues with running the game with Ultra textures and they sure look a lot better than High, which are normally the best you can get out of 3 gigs of VRAM. There is no noticeable difference between Medium and High and the game still looks great with Lighting set to Medium. Also, Lighting quality is going to be Medium because anything higher will likely drop your frames to the 40-50 range. And finally, we are going to turn HDR off, because that setting causes visual glitches on DX12. This will ensure that far away textures are loading in at a bit lower quality, thus your game will not go over your VRAM limit and stutter. The default LOD is set at 0.920000, we are going to change it to 0.750000. Next up, we will lower Texture LOD in the config file. This will sharpen the game back to native 1080p, but you will still save some frames because the game is technically running at 11/12 of its original resolution. Heres a small sampling of what we hope to add to the game during. Weve come a long way but still have a lot of features and improvements to make.

Our vision for this game is a terrifying open world full of gameplay options and player freedom. Turn it on with these settings - Sharpen 0.50 and Ignore Film Grain 0.17. The Forest has been in development for a while, but now we need your feedback to make it even better. In Nvidia control panel, there is a feature called Image Sharpening. Now your game looks like shit, right? Well, we will fix that as well. The next crucial setting is Resolution Scale.

By setting the API to DX12, we will lose a couple of frames but don't worry, we will get them back. If you set textures to Ultra on Vulkan, you will notice a lot of texture pop-in and some objects will outright refuse to load correctly. While Vulkan will provide you with better overall performance, it is more taxing on your VRAM and uses a different technique to load high quality textures. Why not Vulkan? Well, it's rather simple. For the graphics API, we are going to be using DX12.

Okay, first of all, there are a few key settings that you absolutely need to change for the game to run well. Mod: US1 cashback after US1 purchase with vote is no longer available (wasnt available at all) Use code GOLDENFLASH to simply buy it for US0.50 Use code GOLDENFLASH to simply buy it for US0.50 Mod 2: Actually was a duplicate to this deal, however duplicate exception now applies as it is well past 50 votes. With this guide, you will be able to experience the game with mostly 60 fps with drops to the low 50s in Saint Denis (most intensive area) with crispy Ultra textures. If you have a GTX 1060 3GB like I do, look no further. The High textures in this game look kinda shit, but 3GB VRAM is just simply not enough to get them to run well on Ultra.
